David Spence

David Spence is Director of Programmes at the Museum of London, the UK’s largest social history museum. He was formerly Director of the Museum of London Docklands. Spence is Visiting Professor to the School of Art & Design History for Museum & Gallery Studies at Kingston University London. He is a consultant on the development of a new Museum of Slavery in Qatar and museums in the Caribbean Leeward Islands. Prior to joining the Museum he was Director of Exhibitions and Display at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London, where he was responsible for the galleries and displays including the 17th century Queen’s House in this UNESCO World Heritage site.
