Charles Rix

Charles is a legal consultant in the insurance industry having previously been a partner for nearly 23 years at the international law firm, Hogan Lovells.  During his time at Hogan Lovells, he was Global Head of the firm’s insurance industry sector group and a member of the firm’s Citizenship Committee.  He advises on a wide range of matters, including M&A, Part VII transfers, schemes of arrangement, and business and product restructuring.

Charles is ranked in legal directories, in Chambers UK as a Senior Statesman and in Legal 500 in their Hall of Fame, for corporate and regulatory advice in the insurance industry.  He was also the editor of two editions of The Practitioner’s Guide to the Regulation of Insurance (Sweet & Maxwell 2014 and 2020) and co-authored two chapters, on the Regulation of Long-Term Insurance and on Portfolio Transfers and Solvent Schemes of Arrangement.

He has a lifelong interest in history and different cultures, and he has travelled extensively.
