Frances Ewings

Gallery Supervisor

Frances is a Gallery Supervisor and part of the Migration Museum’s front-of-house team. With a background in magazines, she joined the museum following an MA in Public History at Royal Holloway. She is passionate about ensuring wider access to cultural institutions and their outputs, and takes pride in providing a welcoming space for all at the museum. Frances has a particular interest in oral history and storytelling, and the positive impact heritage activities can have on well-being – seeing her facilitate reminiscence sessions for older adults at the museum (on-site and outreach). She has also researched, written and delivered exhibition tours.

Frances is interested in pop culture and how it can be used to convey history that’s relatable and engaging. Born in London to Irish parents, she is proud to work at the Migration Museum and shine a light on the diverse migrant communities who have helped shape the UK.
