Stories of Aldgate

2 June – 31st August
Vine Street, London EC3N 2PX
Free

The Migration Museum is delighted to have contributed to Stories of Aldgate, a free outdoor display presented by Aldgate BID celebrating the rich history, vibrant culture, and diverse community that make Aldgate such an iconic area of London.

Running from June to August, this audio-visual exhibition takes place along Vine Street in Aldgate (EC3N 2PX), and aims to capture the voices and lived experiences of those who live, work and study across Aldgate. Explore the exhibition in your own time and scan the QR Codes under each storyteller to hear their stories.

Through a fascinating collection of portrait photographs, personal stories, and creative displays, the exhibition brings to life Aldgate’s past and present. Exploring themes of migration, community, and transformation – told in the storyteller’s own words.

We will be running a guided walking tour to accompany the exhibition, offering an opportunity to discover the history that made Aldgate what it is today – more details coming soon.

This exhibition is presented by Aldgate BID and features contributions from the Migration Museum, Heard StorytellingLondon Metropolitan University, and Blue Orchid Hospitality.

This project is supported by the City of London Corporation’s Community Infrastructure Levy Neighbourhood Fund. Find out more here.
