About the exhibition
For this project, our common theme is migration: as a journey of self-knowledge and of understanding one’s roots. Migration can be an integral part of being, like the yearly migration of birds. But it can also be intertwined with oblivion and escape.
Wars have always existed. People are born, people die, people migrate. We try to capture and pass on stories so they are not lost from memory. And these stories are all about us: humans destroy, but humans also create.
On 24 February 2022, studies at the Lviv National Academy of Arts in Ukraine were suspended; we lived in a completely unknown situation for two weeks.
Since then, we have been searching for a way out of this war and we continue to gather all our strength to find it. We keep working and exploring because we believe in the future. It belongs to us.
The war has become an impetus for a new look at our lives. This is a very difficult time for us – a time of fears and doubts, of inner struggles, but also a time to become stronger and to learn.
In this project, we focus on discovery, on learning new things and bringing them to others in different environments and contexts.
We are all connected by something; physically, mentally, by history, by family.
Our art embodies all this.

About the artists
Anna Dovhan
(Ukraine, 2002)
Anna Dovhan is a student at the Lviv National Academy of Arts, Department of Contemporary Art Practices working in graphics and mixed media. The most recent project she took part in was about the war experience (Reactivation, Lviv, August–October, 2022). She is interested in the perception of sound and the personal experience that sound transmits. She took part in the creation of group audio works as a music composer (“A walk between the trenches”, Kaunas, August 2022; “City-72”, Kyiv, June 2022). In the journey to developing her practice and finding her own medium she has also made performance (Vezha 3.0 International Festival of Architecture and Arts, Lviv, July 2021) and installation (Detali, Ivano-Frankivsk, December, 2021)
Illya Turyhin
(Ukraine, 2002)
Illya Turyhin graduated from the Lviv National Academy of Arts, Department of Contemporary Art Practices (2022, Bachelor) and has participated in group and personal projects in Ukraine and abroad (Poland, Spain). He mainly works with video art, performance and installation. The themes in his work usually involve social issues, an analysis of personal experience and perception. He lives and works in Lviv.
Ivanna Bahriychuk
(Lviv, Ukraine, 2002)
Works in performance, video art, photo collage, video performance. In her artistic activity she explores herself through the subjectivity of things and phenomena. She explores the environment through personal and social aspects. She has been a participant at festivals and group exhibitions in Ukraine. Bahriichuk is currently studying at the Contemporary Art Practices department at the Lviv National Academy of Arts and lives and works in Lviv.
Yuliya Yeromina
(Lviv, Ukraine, 2002)
Yuliya works in performance art, video, drawing and collage. She experiments with storytelling and with the viewer’s attention. She has taken part in international festivals such as: V International Festival of Audiovisual Art “Tetramatics”, Lviv, Ukraine 2021 (video “Defect”), Art project “FrankoLaboratorium3.0. Beyond the limits of the possible” in the framework of “ФPANKO.RE: VOLUTION”, Franko library patio, Lviv, Ukraine 2021 (performance “Within”), III International Festival of Architecture and Arts “Tower 3.0. Form of [IN]dependence”, Svirzh Castle, Lviv region, Ukraine 2021 (performance “Svirzh Castle”), City exhibition, performative action, musical improvisation “Body”, Lviv, Ukraine 2021 (collage “Gubovuch”), Ars Electronica Festival “Welcome to Planet B”, Linz, Austria 2022 (installation “Russophobia 02”). Yuliia has transferred from Lviv National Academy of Arts and is currently a student at the Vilnius Academy of Arts in Lithuania.
Sofia Melnyk
(Ukraine, 2001)
Melnyk is a student at the Lviv National Academy of Arts, Department of Contemporary Art Practices. She works with video art, performance, installation and sound and has participated in several local collective exhibitions and festivals of young artists. She is interested in conveying the sensual and the whimsical in her practices.
Yaryna Shumska
(Ukraine, 1989)
Shumska works in performance art, painting, and installation. She explores the concept of human presence that provokes changes in the primary significance of places and situations. The main themes are connected to place, context, and memory: objects and their invisible stories.
She graduated from LNAM. PhD and was given a grant by the Gaude Polonia scholarship program from the Minister of Culture of Poland (2013). She was shortlisted for the Young Ukrainian Artists Competition MYXi (2015), and the II Youth Biennale of Contemporary Art of Ukraine (2019). She was a participant in the I-Portunus mobility program (France, Germany, Poland, 2019) and Magic carpets (Italy, 2021) and Rupert residency (Lithuania, 2022). She is an author of solo exhibitions and art projects, a participant in numerous events and international performance art festivals in Ukraine and abroad, Poland, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, Lithuania, Norway, Latvia, Japan, Thailand, USA, etc. She was a co-organiser of the International festival Days of Art Performance in Lviv (2019), and co-curator of the residency Archiv: at the place (2020) and Performance Art Archive of Ukraine (2021).
She teaches at the Contemporary Art Practices department at the Lviv National Academy of Arts (LNAM). She lives and works in Lviv.

Про проект We are All Connected / Ми всі поєднані
У цьому проекті нашою спільною темою є міграція; міграція як подорож самопізнання та розуміння свого коріння. Можна говорити про таку невід’ємну частину буття як річна міграція птахів. Але це поняття також переплітається із забуттям і втечею.
Війни існують споконвічно. Люди народжуються, люди вмирають, люди мігрують. Ті самі люди намагаються вловити та передати історії, щоб вони не стерлися з пам’яті. І це все про нас, людей, які руйнують, але водночас і творять.
24 лютого навчання у Львівській національній академії мистецтв призупинилося, два тижні ми жили в абсолютній невідомості.
Відтоді ми шукаємо вихід із цієї війни і продовжуємо збирати всі сили, щоб знайти його. Ми продовжуємо працювати та досліджувати, тому що ми віримо в майбутнє. Воно належить нам.
Війна стала поштовхом для нового погляду на наше життя. Це дуже важкий час для нас, час страхів і сумнівів, внутрішньої боротьби, але також час стати сильнішими і вчитися.
У цьому проекті ми зосереджуємось на відкритті, на вивченні нового і привнесенні його іншим у різних середовищах та інших контекстах.
Усі ми чимось поєднані; фізично, розумово, історією, родиною.
Усе це втілює наше мистецтво.

Анна Довгань

Анна є студенткою Львівської Національної Академії Мистецтв, кафедра Актуальні мистецькі практики.
Вона працює у графіці і мультимедіа. Останній проект, в якому вона брала учать, стосувався досвіду проживання війни (Реактивація, Львів, Серпень-Жовтень, 2022).
Через зацікавленість до звуку, його сприйняття і особистого досвіду, який звук може транслювати, брала участь у створенні кількох аудіоробіт у ролі музичного композитора (“Прогулянка поміж окопів”, фестиваль OÏDA III, Каунас, серпень 2022, “Місто-72”, Київ, липень 2022). В пошуках власної художньої мови і близького медіуму, вона спробувала себе у перфомансі (Вежа 3.0, Міжнародний фестивать архітектури і мистецтв, Львів, липень 2021), інсталяції (Деталі, Івано-Франківськ, грудень, 2021)
Ілля-Туригін
(Україна, 2002)
Закінчив Львівську національну академію мистецтв, кафедру Актуальних мистецьких практик (2022, бакалавр). Учасник групових та персональних проєктів в Україні та за кордоном (Польща, Іспанія). Переважно працюю у медіа відео-арту, перфомансу, інсталяції. Теми, із якими я працюю, зазвичай зачіпають соціальні питання, рефлексію особистого досвіду та сприйняття. Живу та працюю у Львові.
Іванна Багрійчук
(Україна, 2002)
Працює в сферах перформанс, відеоарт, фотоколаж, відеоперформанс. В своїй мистецькій діяльності досліджує себе через суб’єктивність речей і явищ, досліджує середовище через особисті та соціальні аспекти. Учасниця фестивалів і групових виставок у Львові. Багрійчук навчається на кафедрі Актуальні Мистецькі Практики у Львівській Національній Академії Мистецтв. Живе та працює у Львові.
Юлія Єрьоміна
(Україна, 2002)
Працює у мистецтві перформансу, відео, рисунку та колажу. Експериментує зі сторітелінгом та увагою глядача.
Брала участь у міських та міжнародних фестивалях, таких як: V Міжнародний фестиваль аудіовізуального мистецтва “Тетраматика”, Львів, Україна 2021 (відео “Дефект”), Мистецький проєкт “FrankoLaboratorium3.0. Поза межами можливого” в рамках “ФPANKO.RE: VOLUTION”, внутрішній дворик бібліотеки ім. І. Франка, Львів, Україна 2021 (перформанс “У межах”), ІІІ Міжнародний фестиваль архітектури та мистецтв “Вежа 3.0. Форма [НЕ]залежності”, Свірзький замок, Львівська область, Україна 2021 (перформанс “Свірзький замок”), Міська виставка, перформативне дійство, музична імпровізація “Тіло”, Львів, Україна 2021 (колаж “Губовух”), Міжнародний фестиваль Ars Electronica “Welcome to Planet B”, Лінц, Австрія 2022 (інсталяція “Русофобія 02”).
Юлія перевелася з Львівської національної академії мистецтв і наразі є студенткою Вільнюської академії мистецтв у Литві.
Софія Мельник
(Україна, 2001)
Студентка Львівської національної академії мистецтв, кафедри Актуальних мистецьких практик. Софія працює в напрямку відео-арту, перформансу, інсталяції та аудіального мистецтва. Була учасницею кількох місцевих колективних виставок та фестивалів молодого мистецтва. В роботах намагається передати чуттєвість та химерність.
Ярина Шумська
(Україна, 1989)
Працює у сфері перформансy, живопису, інсталяції. Досліджує поняття «присутності» людини, що провокує зміни первинного значення місць і ситуацій. Основні теми пов’язані з місцем, контекстом і пам’яттю: об’єкти та їх невидимі історії.
Випускниця Львівської національної академії мистецтв, кандидат мистецтвознавства. Стипендіатка програми Gaude Polonia Міністра Культури Польщі (Познань, 2013), фіналістка всеукраїнського конкурсу МУХі (2015), ІІ Бієнале молодого мистецтва (2019). Учасниця міжнародних програм мобільності I-Portunus (Франція, Німеччина, Польща, 2019) та Magic Carpets (Італія, 2021), резиденції Rupert (Литва, 2022). Авторка персональних виставок та проектів, учасниця мистецьких подій та фестивалів перформансу в Україні та за кордоном, Польща, Німеччина, Франція, Португалія, Іспанія, Литва, Норвегія, Латвія, Японія, Таїланд, США та ін. Співорганізаторка фестивалю Дні мистецтва перфоманс у Львові (2019), співкураторка резиденції Архів: на місці (2020) та Архіву Перформансу в Україні (2021).
Викладає на кафедрі Актуальні мистецькі практики у Львівській національній академії мистецтв. Живе і працює у Львові.
