Indeed, the NHS has relied on doctors and nurses arriving from abroad – especially southern Asia, the Caribbean and Africa – ever since its creation in 1948. Their contributions are celebrated in a new exhibition by the Migration Museum, currently open in Leicester before moving to Leeds and London.
