We are delighted that this year’s George Alagiah Lecture at the Hay Festival is in support of the Migration Museum, and is being delivered by Migration Museum Trustee David Olusoga.

George was a passionate supporter, a remarkable trustee and a true friend and champion of the Migration Museum, and the George Alagiah Lecture celebrates the issues central to his work: migration, the power of the global majority and questions of representation.

This year, British-Nigerian historian, author, presenter, BAFTA-winning film-maker and Migration Museum Trustee David Olusoga discusses the history and legacy of the British Empire and how colonial nostalgia is shaping contemporary geopolitics, with journalist Kirsty Lang.

The Migration Museum’s Artistic Director Aditi Anand will be introducing the lecture, and members of our team will be attending on the day and would be delighted to have a chat and share more information about our future plans.

We hope that you can join us for what promises to be a fascinating talk – and a fitting tribute to George.
